Like we previously mentioned, volunteer opportunities for Music Along the Chippewa (our home marching show) would be coming in a separate email. THIS IS THAT EMAIL!
You can volunteer to sell concessions, take tickets, donate food, work the gate, and more!

Dear Music Parents:
Please consider signing up to support our Marching Band Home Show on October 5. This is one of our biggest fundraisers, and one where we need help from all music parents. Maybe you would like to attend this amazing event, but can volunteer for a few hours while you are there. There are jobs needed to be filled to work in the stands, in concessions, or behind the scenes. Maybe you would like to donate food or other items. If you click on the link, or copy and paste the link below, it will take you to the sign up. We appreciate anything that you can do to support our students and their directors. Remember, all CFMA money gets divided evenly between band, choir and orchestra at the end of the year. Thank you for your support!

High school students will be wearing their uniforms. You will need your white uniform shirt and black socks and shoes!
MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
9:15am Meet at BMO Bank/Central Lutheran parking lot
10:00am Parade line-up

The parade “ends” in Irvine Park.
Parking in the pool lot would be smart.
~11:00am Ceremony begins in Irvine Park. Only the Symphonic Band plays for the ceremony. Varsity Band is dismissed at the end of the parade, or can stick around to play kickball/Big Base afterwards.

With the month of May right around the corner, it might be helpful to review the upcoming events on the band calendar before the end of the year gets too crazy!
Do you have your ENCORE! tickets yet?
What: The Chippewa Falls Music Association's 2nd annual fundraising event, ENCORE! will feature performances by the Chi-Hi Music Department. This will be the one and only event of the year where you can see the best of Chi-Hi band, choir and orchestra from 2018-2019, all in one concert.
Who: Cardinal Choir, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band I, 12th Grade Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Wire Choir, Harmonics and also selected student spotlights will perform.
When: ENCORE! will take place Friday, May 3rd, at 7PM in the Chi-Hi Auditorium.
How to order: Reserved ticket seating is $10 and can be ordered at https://cfhs.ludus.com or by calling the Chi-Hi Box Office at 715-726-2406 ext 2409.
New: This year we will also have a Main Street Pie Social, starting at 6PM in the Chi-Hi Cafeteria. Come enjoy some pie and extra music!

Butter Braids are one of the easiest things that the band sells each year - they taste AMAZING and are so easy to make. Kristin and I always keeps a few in the freezer "just in case" we have family or friends stop by and need a sweet treat to share.
The fundraiser officially kicked off on Tuesday, March 12.
You can sell Butter Braids from now until March 26 when the orders need to be turned in to Mr. Renneke.
Butter Braids are delivered on April 18, which is now a full day of school (used to be an Early Release) - be sure to pick them up before you leave! They arrive frozen, so you will need to make arrangements to bring them home; you don't want them to thaw and explode in the car!
Your profits from the Butter Braid fundraiser can be used towards next year's band fee, the music department trip in 2021, purchasing music for solo & ensemble, buying reeds, etc.

Who do I sell Butter Braids to?
Everyone loves Butter Braids. A good starting place of people to get in touch with is your family, friends, and neighbors - but don't forget about other people in your life!
All students interested in auditioning for the Wind Ensemble for next school year will submit a video audition.
A few of the positive reasons we are using video auditions:
With all of the snow days, we weren't able to establish a consistent audition timeline, so this is out next best option.
All video auditions must be submitted to Mr. Renneke no later than Wednesday, March 20. Please be aware that this is in the middle of spring break.
Any auditions that are time-stamped after March 20 will not be considered.
Video Audition Requirements
As part of the constant improvement of the Chippewa Falls High School band program, the Leadership Team has been having conversations around the student leader selection process, organization and structure, and the overall format of our Leadership Team.
In order to roll out these proposed changes and gather feedback, there will be Leadership Team meeting during Prime Time on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

We are looking forward to our upcoming Percussion Camp on Saturday, February 23! This will be the final camp before auditions in March. This is a great opportunity for you to practice technique and get final feedback before auditions.

Good morning CFHS Band Fam!
The day has arrived - fruit delivery! I know you have been anxiously watching this day approach on your calendar just as I have - it is it's own mini holiday!
We are hoping to organize pick-up a little differently this year to both help keep things moving slowly and to cut down on pick-up errors.
We suggest the following timing for order pick-up:
3:00 pm: Anyone with $500 or more in sales
3:30 pm: Students with 1-2 boxes (or a few more if riding the bus)
4:00 pm: Last names A-L
4:30 pm: Last names M-Z
If 4:00 pm works for you but your last name is Renneke, we won't turn you away. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding as you pick-up your fruit. We could still use a few more volunteers to help confirm orders.
The money is due Wednesday, December 19th and checks should be made out to CFHS.
