This list is by no means exhaustive, but should get your brain ready for school on Monday! You can always find up-to-date information on the website and on the calendar page!
Any questions, let me know!
Hello CFHS Band family,
Just a few updates and reminders:
The pep band bus will leave the high school around 4:15pm.
Equipment will be loaded onto the buses - we do not have the trailer.
Every student will need a ticket from Mr. Renneke.
I would expect us to return home around midnight - we will leave Stevens Point as soon as we are able to after the game ends.
We will need to bring a drum set.
There will be a bus taking the band students down to Stevens Point for the Level 4 playoff football game. Students should have already signed up with Mr. Renneke and Mr. Hitt.
Hello CFHS Band parents,
We are in need of 10 more people who would be able to help sell concessions on Friday, November 13 and could earn us a potential $2000 for the Uniform Campaign.
We could use 1 more person to help starting at 5:30pm, and 10 more people to help from 6:00pm to close (around 9pm).
Please e-mail me directly if you are able to help. Thanks for your consideration!
Hello CFHS band parents,
We have a great opportunity to raise about $2000 in one evening this Friday, November 13. The high school is going to be a neutral site this Friday for one of the Level 4 playoff football games. Because our own team is going to be in Steven's Point, the athletic boosters are looking for help to run the concession stand at the football game being held here in Chippewa.
The boosters have offered to give us 50% of the concessions gross (using the other 50% to pay for the food/soda) if we can provide workers. They will plan and prepare and run the stand, and we will do the "work" selling concessions.
So, to make this work: we need 15 adult volunteers to help sell concessions this Friday. If you are willing to help us with this endeavor please e-mail me (Mr. Renneke) directly at email@example.com. Band parent Steve Hein and myself will be coordinating the volunteers. Students who are under 18 are welcome to help but they must be working with a parent/guardian.
Need 3 people for setup at 4:30pm
Need 6 people to open the stand at 5:30pm
Need a full complement of workers (15-19) by 6:00pm
Should end around 9:00pm
Steve and Shelley Hein have already volunteered to help that night - so has my fiance. Will you be available to help us take a big bite out of our remaining goal for the Uniform Campaign?
Thank you for your generous gifts of time and treasure so far!
CFHS Band students,
Fill out this quick form if you'd like to ride the band bus down to Stevens Point on Friday. I hope to have nearly the entire band there so we can rock the house! The other team might be bringing their band, so obviously we want to be HUGE.

We are proud of our ability to provide a variety of school-owned instruments to our students. As each school year passes the wear-and-tear on this inventory takes it toll on the life of these instruments, and eventually they need to be repaired with a major overhaul, or replaced.
Our original strategy was to maintain a large "fleet" of medium quality instruments. After much consideration and conversation with other schools, we believe it is a better strategy to maintain a smaller amount of higher quality instruments.
What this means:
A hypothetical example of what this new strategy looks like in action:
There are 12 horn players in our program, grades 9-12. In each period of band there are 4 horn players. Instead of owning and maintaining 12 low/medium-quality instruments, we will own and maintain 4 high-quality instruments.
Students will still use their own mouthpieces, and "germs" can't be transferred from sharing an instrument. We believe this new strategy will save us money in the long-run while still allowing us to properly maintain our instruments. Under our current plan we max out our repair budget around November of each year.
