1. There is no football game on September 1, so we are not performing at halftime.
2. Bring your instrument on the first day of school! 3. We will be performing at the school kick-off assembly (like normal) so head to the gym for PEP BAND!!! MR We are looking for a number of volunteers to assist with fitting students into uniform! The times we will be sizing students is on Tuesday (8/22) in the afternoon and Wednesday (8/23) in the morning. We are hoping for 2-3 more volunteers to help with the process. The work is easy; students come in and try on their old uniform. If it fits, we do a little dance. If it doesn't fit, we just keep trying on uniforms until we find one that does. New students (such as ninth graders) will not have a uniform from the previous season, so they will be starting from scratch. If you are able to help out, even just for a little bit, please contact Uniform Chair Tamara Harris. Uniform Chairperson |
Thank you for the great response to our initial inquiry into an elementary-aged student for a brief but key role in our show. I wanted to jot down a few ideas and outline a little better what this particular role entails. In the second part of the show the music ends sweetly with a low "music box-esque" restatement of the main motif. The band ends in a kite formation with the color guard forming the ribbon tail of the kite. At this ending we'd like to have a young performer traipse along the outer form of the kite with - you guessed it! - a kite. |
Hello CFHS Band Family!
Because of a change in our rehearsal schedule on Friday, we will be able to use Dorais Field all afternoon. We'd like to invite our parents and friends who are available to stop out and see what we have accomplished this week - if you are free, consider yourself invited to stop by the field around 4:45pm tomorrow and we will put on an impromptu performance for you!
The itinerary for Saturday's parade is on the website: http://www.cfhsbands.org/itineraries.html
BATTERY PERCUSSIONISTS: A cool device you might consider purchasing to help alleviate back strain: http://www.drumbelt.com/
