Hello CFHS band parents:
Once again the VFW and CFPD is looking for some help with crowd control during the Memorial Day parade on Monday. If you have done it before, you know how easy it is. I have reflective vests for you to wear :) We are looking for a few parents or volunteers to stand at the intersections and keep people from sneaking out onto the parade route. You are not directing traffic or cars, just keeping people (and children) from straying onto the street. Additionally, we need two people to keep a small section of the Duncan Creek bridge cleared for the wreath ceremony. If you are able to help out, please add your name to our list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dUsa77ttmNlfGC... Thanks for your help! Enjoy the beautiful weekend! Mike Renneke Percussionists:
It is time to start thinking about what you might be interested in playing for in the fall for marching band. Maybe you were in the front ensemble and would like to do that again. Perhaps you marched snare but are interested in marching bass drum instead. Whatever your personal thoughts might be, the first thing we have to consider is the needs of the band as a whole. Obviously we can't have everyone playing snare; we neither have the equipment for such a section, nor would it sound good and contribute to the success of the ensemble. I would really, really like to get an indoor percussion ensemble going. I think we finally have the numbers and students who are interested. So, you might be able to march snare for marching band, and then work on and learn the tenors for percussion ensemble. Here is what I am hoping to march this fall:
Start considering what you are interested in playing, then click here and complete this short survey. Please fill this out by Wednesday, May 25. So, go do this right now. Don't wait.
THANK YOU ALL for your involvement in CFMA this year! In order for CFMA to be successful, we need your active participation, and we sincerely appreciate your time and talent!!
This is a reminder that there is a CFMA Member Meeting this Thursday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. Remember - Butter Braids are being delivered next TUESDAY, MAY 10 after school. You can come and pick them up after school between 3:45 and 4:15pm. They arrive frozen, so you will need to have a plan for picking them up and getting them back into a freezer! MR |
